There comes a time when knitting that you might need to move live stitches to a holder.  These leather cords are great they grab the yarn and make it a challenge for the stitches to slide off.  With the enclosed needle you are able to thread the stitches easily onto the leather cord.  You can then knit the live stitches removing them from the cord.
