Beginner Crochet
Tuesday, May 14th at 4pm – 6pm with Julie
In our Beginner Crochet Course, you will learn about types of hooks and yarn, how to read a pattern both charted and written, learn the foundation stitches of crochet a chain, single crochet, half double crochet and double crochet. We will begin with a simple project that you will create while you learn. Once completed you will learn how to weave in your ends. By the end of the course you will have the basics to complete a wide range of projects.

Items to bring or buy:
- a crochet hook size G or J
- a ball of worsted weight yarn
- sewing needle suited to the thickness of your yarn

Beginner Knitting
Friday, May 17th at 3pm -5pm with Sue
In our Beginner Knitting Course, you will learn about types of needles and yarn, how to cast-on, produce knit and purl stitches, bind off, and weave in yarn ends. If time allows or in a future class you’ll also learn to distinguish right from wrong sides of your work, to recognize and correct mistakes, to read written patterns and yarn labels and additional cast-on and bind-off techniques. By the end of the Course, you will have all the basics to complete a wide variety of projects.

- a pair of straight knitting needles size US7 or 8 (or equivalent circulars)
- a ball of worsted weight yarn
- sewing needle suited to the thickness of your yarn
